Information technology specialists believe that the Sapphire computer worm, which sent shockwaves round the world at the weekend, could have originated in Hong Kong.

Reports in the US say the FBI's computer protection unit had found the worm contained references in its code to the Honker group, a band of hackers believed to be active on the mainland and possibly Hong Kong.
