Fun programmes lined up at ICS

The theme of the International Christian School (ICS)'s Chinese New Year programme this year is 'Asian New Year Celebrations'. It will feature singing, dancing, drama performances, mime and poetry readings, among other activities.

Students will introduce new year customs and festivities in different Asian communities, including the mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Korea.

Highlights of the programme include a catwalk with students displaying traditional costumes from their home countries, a performance of the Monkey King and a recitation of the ancient poem Mulan in Putonghua.

Visitors will also have a chance to try New Year treats from different Asian countries and win special prizes in games.

The secondary school Lunar New Year programme will be held tomorrow from 1pm to 3pm at 45-47 Grampian Road, Kowloon City.

Two elementary school Lunar New Year programmes will be held on Thursday. The first, a short Chinese musical performance, will take place from 9.15am to 9.45am and the second, a Chinese New Year assembly, will be held from 1pm to 2pm at the elementary campus in Fotan, New Territories: Jubilee Court Shopping Centre, 5th Floor, 2-18 Lok King Street (across from the Fotan MTR station).
