A mainland man who robbed a salesman of diamonds worth $2.45 million in Causeway Bay after bashing him and a colleague over the head with a metal bar was jailed for six years. Zhong Hua-kun, 26, hit So Ying-yin in Percival Street on July 17 last year and snatched his case containing the diamonds, four gold bracelets and a wallet. He also hit Abuhatzira Avraham when he held on to his case. Zhong admitted at the Court of First Instance a charge of robbery and one of attempted robbery. Four alleged accomplices face trial on the mainland.
