Movie star Chow Yun-fat's 'inspirational' personal journey from poor illiterate Lamma Island boy to Hollywood hero is celebrated in a new secondary school textbook.

Chow is the first Hong Kong actor ever to feature in a government-funded textbook. And his story - which is written to inspire Hong Kong children to struggle on against adversity - appears next to national heroes like Dr Sun Yat Sen.
