Simply the East
Cheongsams, kimonos, mandarin collars, Chinese buttons and fine Asian embroidery were all over the spring runways as designers again looked east for inspiration. While the styling of several collections verges on the offensive - spiked lacquered heels, Shanghai Lily make-up and kitschy dragon jewellery - you don't have to work in a Wan Chai bar to wear them. Keep it simple and you'll carry it all off without caricature.
