Hong Kong Sevens
The Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens 2013 is an international rugby tournament that begins on Friday March 22 and features 28 of the world's top rugby teams.
Rugby Tens all set for kick-off
No teams have so far withdrawn from the 17th Hong Kong DHL Tens - the international rugby tournament being held today and tomorrow at the Hong Kong Football Club, ahead of Friday's Hong Kong Sevens.
While the Sevens has suffered the withdrawal of top sides France, Italy and Argentina due to the outbreak of pneumonia here, it looks like the annual 24-team Tens tournament hosted by the Hong Kong Football Club, will go ahead without a hitch.
Top sides from Australia, New Zealand, England, Wales, Ireland, Japan, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and China will vie for the cup.
Last year's finalists, the New Zealand Metros, could be this year's team to beat.
The Hong Kong Barbarians line-up includes players from Valley, Aberdeen and Kowloon clubs.
On day one, the sides compete in eight groups of three teams each. On day two, teams are seeded into the Tens Cup, Bowl or Plate.
Meanwhile, at So Kon Po, bragging rights are at stake in the one-day Kowloon Rugbyfest Tens - a competition for the region's non-elite teams who seek to impress. Both events kick-off at 11am.
