The festival continues with screenings every day. With its most global flavour yet, highlights include Fruit Chan's latest offering Public Toilet, the envelope-pushing abilities of Abbas Kiarostami and Alexander Sokurov as well as Hong Kong's first glimpse of David Cronenberg's Spider and Spike Jonze's Adaptation, starring Nicolas Cage and Meryl Streep. Aspiring Asian directors are showcased with a selection of movies shot on digital video, while the cinema of Italy comes under the microscope. Today's highlight is the steamy A Snake Of June, an uncompromising, psycho-erotic thriller that makes 9 1/2 Weeks look like When Harry Met Sally and won the Grand Jury Prize, Venice 2002. Today, 9pm. Grand Theatre, Cultural Centre. The rest of the programme continues daily at selected venues. $55, $42, $30 HK Ticketing. Inquiries: 2970 3300 or www.hkiff.org.hk
