Research in the UK has shown that:
- Children with pets are less likely to fall ill.
- Pet ownership adds 18 days to their annual school attendance.
- Friendship with pets is one of children's five most valued relationships. They often confide in their pets with things considered secret from adults.
Get your teachers and parents to go to A Pet is for Life, a science talk jointly organised by the SPCA and the Education and Manpower Bureau.
Venue: Hong Kong Science Museum.
Time: May 14, 2.30-4.30pm.
Speakers: Representatives from the Police Dog Unit, the SPCA and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department.
