BUMPED into Metro Broadcast supremo Craig Quick, who was, ahem . . . quick to point out that he was taking a fresh perspective on the world and he couldn't be happier about what he was seeing.

Fearing that poor Craig, though tanned and rested, might just have spent too much of time under the sun during his recent Hawaiian vacation, I gently raised my eyebrows questioningly.

''Oh, I've got myself a new pair of glasses and you wouldn't believe how so different everything looks,'' responded the radio chief, snapping the bi-focals off and offering them to me for closer inspection In fact, word is that Craig strolling around Metro's Hunghom abode yesterday showing off his new spectacles and telling all and sundry that ''the future has never looked better''.

As we parted company, Craig - who thumps a mean piano in his off-duty hours - blurted: ''The future's so bright, I've got to wear shades''.

Hang on a minute. Wasn't that a line from a hit song of yesteryear by some rock group or other?
