Messenger attacked
After all the abuse I received over 'The one-sided reporting on Aung San Suu Kyi incident' (June 6), both in print (Letters, June 7 and 9) and phone calls, because I attached my name to the letter, it seems maybe someone should say sorry.
The special envoy from the United Nations saw Ms Suu Kyi this week and she is not injured in any way. There is no credible evidence that the event is anything beyond that reported by the Myanmar government.
So how about a sorry, people, or would that be too much?

Environmental posturing
Contrary to what Robert Verburg asserts ('Kyoto views are painfully absurd,' June 9), environmentalism and socialism are what keep the Third World poor.
What they need is freedom, reason and capitalism, not human sacrifice to bugs, dirt, weeds and fish.
Regarding the Kyoto Protocol, just because something is in the South China Morning Post does not mean it is true. It just means the media should take a more objective approach to green claims.
