God bless our school

'We have come this far by faith' was the theme of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the International Christian School (ICS) held at Hong Kong Baptist University this week.

About 1,200 students, parents, and staff gathered for a giant prayer session (pictured above), speeches, choir recitals, films, orchestral performances, and a religious play written by ICS drama teacher Sean Hunley. Speaking before the party, in-coming headmaster Ben Norton said: 'We've taken massive steps of faith over the last ten years. If God continues to bless this school, our 20th anniversary is going to be quite a big shindig.'

ICS began in 1991 when a group of 16 missionaries drew up plans for a school with a US-style Christian education taught from a God-centred perspective. It now has nearly 700 pupils at three campuses, and is building a new school in Sha Tin to open in 2006.
