With his letter headlined 'The one-sided reporting on Aung San Suu Kyi incident' (June 6), John Rutter was criticised for his ludicrous accusations against the Nobel laureate.

So outrageous were his accusations that one had to ask the motive behind them.

The criticism of his letter has nothing to do with whether or not Ms Suu Kyi was injured in the brutal attack in Myanmar.

It seems that in his second letter, Mr Rutter wants to give the military junta and its cohort credit for not injuring Ms Suu Kyi in the attack, in which several innocent people lost their lives ('Messenger attacked', June 13).

Should we also give Myanmar's military junta credit for its wonderfully murderous human rights record against others?
