Claudio Scandella


Vice-president of Ocean Freight Asia-Pacific


DHL Danzas Air and Ocean


Claudio Scandella is the former managing director of Danzas AEI Intercontinental in Switzerland (Basel), before taking on the head position of Ocean Freight in Asia-Pacific last month. In his new role, Mr Scandella focuses on product development and the implementation of strategies to promote Ocean Freight business, exploring synergies with carriers and improving operational excellence to increase customer satisfaction.


Franz Herbst

Franz Herbst joined DHL Danzas Air and Ocean in March. Having spent some 25 years in the global projects business, Mr Herbst is responsible for driving the industrial projects business in Asia-Pacific. His immediate tasks are to build and strengthen the existing projects' organisations within the region.


Ruth Gee

Ruth Gee has been responsible for leading the British Council's vocational education and training work throughout the world since 1997. She recently became director of the organisation's Hong Kong office. Ms Gee is well known in British education circles after a career spent in schools, colleges and universities.


Benjamin Chang


Regional director, global and risk managed (GRM) accounts

Benjamin Chang is a member of the Aon Asia regional board. In his new position, Mr Chang will head a team of GRM executives within Aon Asia. He joined Aon Hong Kong in 1991, and has had more than 20 years' experience in Hong Kong, China and Asia.


Ronald Lai


Deputy managing director, Aon risk services (ARS) division

Ronald Lai joined the company in 1995 and became an executive director in 1997. In his new capacity, he will assist the deputy chief executive officer in managing ARS' day-to-day business operations.


Andrew Smith


Head of construction and infrastructure department

Andrew Smith rejoined the firm in January as director of construction and infrastructure. His previous experience with Aon Asia includes several managerial assignments in Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam between 1994 and 2000. He then spent a period as managing director of Alexander Forbes Wattana in Thailand. Mr Smith will now report to Ronald Lai, deputy managing director of the Aon risk services division.


Andrew Abram

Andrew Abram has more than 17 years' experience in international hotel sales and marketing and management with Jumeirah International, Dubai; Inter-Continental Hotels and Resorts, Bangkok, Oman, London and Edinburgh; and Hilton International, Scotland.
