Parents collect underage girls after cyber vice raid

A 15-year-old girl, who was among the 24 underage girls found in raids on Friday on three cyber cafes in Mongkok, has been arrested for using another person's identity card.

A police spokeswoman said the girl had been granted bail. The two men and four women aged between 17 and 35 arrested for vice offences were also released on bail.

Detectives found 37 females, including 24 underage girls, working as 'computer assistants' at the cafes. All except one of the underage girls, aged between 14 and 17, were held by police until their parents came to collect them. One was sent to a girl's home, while the remaining 13 women, all over 18, were allowed to leave.

Police said under-aged girls were paid between $100 and $400 to provide various sexual services to customers. The girls worked in small rooms, each containing a computer and a sofa.

Detectives said that the number of cyber cafes providing sex services had mushroomed in Mongkok since last year.
