Gallery Ferry

Hoping to encourage art in the community, and especially for ferry passengers, First Ferry and government arts promotion groups have joined together to display art at ferry pier 5 and on boats serving Cheung Chau. With the theme 'A Dynamic City' artists were encouraged to capture Hong Kong's vibrancy. In Chiu Chin-ting's Colourful Cities series (a tale version pictured), the artist sought to show a great city should be a combination of peace, spontaneity, warmth, strength and pride. Three pieces of installation art are in the VIP lounge of triple-deck ferries until Aug 11. Daily, 6.15am-11.30pm. The two-dimensional art is in the upper and lower waiting areas until Jan 11, 2004.
