The Hang Seng Index fell 2.96 per cent, or 303.38 points, over the week to close at 9,945.22 on Friday.

Kenny Tang Sing-hing at Tung Tai Securities expects a further correction in the coming week as investors await results from key blue chips such as China Mobile on Tuesday. Profit-taking pressure in the US market will also keep a dampener on local trading.

'The index will find support at the 50-day moving average of 9,850. But as long as stocks remain below 10,000 momentum will stay weak,' he said.
