Back in black at Boots
BLACK WAS THE theme for the evening - for guests, models and socialities alike at the Boots First Year anniversary party at Queen's Disco in Central. In fact, it was the perfect venue for the Boots' theme - the walls, dance floor, and stage were curiously already decked out in noir - everything except for the occasional spot of white chewing gum on the floor, forgivable really considering the normal weekend clientele.
Prancing around on stage in an Elvira-meets-Christina Aguilera style, models Lisa S, Jessica Spain, Mandy and Raven were very good at adding a youthful, angst-driven energy to Boots' new line of makeup, No 7, aka Noir. Stealing the spotlight was the impressive work of local fashion designers Bonita Cheung, Virginia Lau and William Tang aimed at storming the teen market with crochet dresses and spangly dangly tassles swishing on stage.
Carefully executed makeup and hair demonstrations entertained the guests, which consisted of socialites Margaret Yau, Susan Sng, Planet Yoga's Mimi Vong, DeBeers' Loretta So, and TVB's up-and-coming host Ridge The.
Shirley Hiranand brought along her gorgeous daughters Rina, Raje and Riva, who seemed to fit in well with the energetic, young vibe.
