As an accessories shop owner, Maggie Chen Chun-rong needs to keep an eye on what is happening in the fashion world. Recently she spotted a new type of earring called an ear hanger, which is like a hook hanging on the back of the ear. Chen says because of the celebrity effect in Japan, this ear hanger promises to be a big hit.
'Pop stars such as Ayumi Hamasaki wore them on TV shows and somehow they became a hit in Japan recently. Later on I saw them again in some fashion magazines, and I decided to test them out in Hong Kong.
'Long earrings are the most fashionable this year.
'While most ear hangers have outrageous designs, they certainly fit the trend. In fact this is a really good earring. It suits everyone, whether you have
really long or really short hair. It's particularly good for those people who do not have their ears pierced.
'The reason being, as we all know, there are not that many trendy or fashionable clip-on earrings around, and so I'm happy to say that these trendy ear hangers are the very best for people like them.
'You can wear ear studs with the hanger as well.'
