NEWFOUNDLAND International, which came under the control of China Everbright in March via a backdoor listing, slipped into the red in its last year under the original management, posting a loss of $6.6 million.

In the previous year it made a $36.8 million profit.

The group had been previously controlled by the Chan brothers since 1990.
