Where to ... taste the life of a model

Sofie Lee was runner-up in the recent Miss Hong Kong contest and is now a top model in town, pacing the catwalk for Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci and Christian Dior. These are her favourite local restaurants.


Yi Jiang Nan, 33 Staunton Street, Central, tel: 2136 0886. 'The dishes are rather fatty, but I really like the fried jade and golden shrimp. The jade is the freshest and the most tender part of Shanghai vegetable wor shun. The shrimp fried with salted egg is really yummy.'


Tiffin Lounge, Mezzanine, Grand Hyatt, 1 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, tel: 2588 1234 (pictured). 'You have to book a few weeks in advance for the dessert buffet. My favourites are the pancakes, fruit and souffle, which come in a range of flavours.'


Fong Tong, 31 Staunton Street, Central, tel: 2525 7117. 'I like the souffle, which is called typhoon cake on the menu. It is served in a traditional Chinese-style beggar bowl.'


Onion, Bartlock Centre, 3 Yiu Wa Street, Causeway Bay, tel: 2838 6292. 'I always order the warm chocolate cake. The inside is filled with chocolate sauce, which slowly pours out as you eat it. The restaurant is quite dark and I like the privacy that brings.'
