Police caught three teenagers red-handed as they attacked a woman and tried to steal her handbag in Fanling yesterday. The three boys were aged between 15 and 16. Plainclothes officers saw one of them kick the woman's leg from behind and another snatch her handbag. The officers then arrested the trio and recovered the bag, containing $850 and a phone.

More space for urns will be provided at Tseung Kwan O public cemetery following complaints about a backlog of applications. The Home Affairs Bureau said yesterday it would provide more urns, but had not finalised a number.

Fireworks display bonus

Tonight's National Day fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9pm, with the display over Victoria Harbour lasting 15 minutes. However, the show will be followed by an eight-minute display by teams from Hong Kong, Italy, the US and Japan, competitors in an international fireworks contest.
