Better than words

I am afraid that 'Flawed findings' (October 8) over-simplifies the public's reaction to the report by the Sars Expert Committee in saying that the consensus is one of discontent.

Divergent views have been expressed in the media, including this forum.

I and most of my friends are generally satisfied with the report, as it has identified serious flaws in Hong Kong's public health system and put forward good proposals for improvements. The experts on the panel have also looked at the issues involved objectively and scientifically without allowing the emotive side of things to cloud their vision.

I believe the report will be of much greater benefit to Hong Kong in the long run than superficial words intended to placate people's wrath or endless political debate on who should resign.
