Pupils are glad to give blood

I REFER to Nicole Leung Ho-yan's letter headlined ''Attitudes must change'' (South China Morning Post, August 28).

Every year the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service comes to my school to collect blood.

Like me, many of my schoolmates are happy to donate blood. For me, giving blood is not painful and every time I donate blood, I feel I'm doing something meaningful even though I do get a little bit nervous.

I think the Blood Transfusion Service should go to schools to collect blood as I think many youngsters will be pleased to donate. Giving blood can hasten the renewal of our bodies and also save lives and, it doesn't cause much pain.
