Award-winning electrical engineer Dave Irvine-Halliday (above) is a man on a mission: bringing light to homes, schools and temples throughout the developing world. Irvine-Halliday's innovative light bulb, using white-light emitting diodes with a lifespan of 35 to 40 years, provides light for thousands of homes in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
