PLA in fishy foray

A US$50 million Shanghai aquarium is preparing to list in Singapore. According to a recent media report from the Lion City, Shanghai Ocean Aquarium is planning to float shares there in January. The company - described as an 'underwater theme park' - is apparently partly held by Poly Technologies, the investment arm of the People's Liberation Army.

We thought the PLA had been ordered out of the business sector a few years back. But perhaps the PLA Navy was allowed to keep it because of synergies involved.

Thought the harbour reclamation controversy couldn't get any more confusing? It now appears that a well-known Nordic peacekeeper will be wading into the fray today.

ZUJI, which insists on ALL CAPITALS and bills itself as 'Asia-Pacific's most comprehensive online travel portal', is bringing in Santa Claus - on a barge.

The media invitation says it all: 'A barge decorated as an exotic island will carry the Santa and begin navigating along the Victoria Harbour on November 3 to bring Hong Kong people spectacular travel experience ...

'The Island will sail at Victoria Harbour and be outside the Golden Bauhinia Square while Santa Claus, Snowman, Huskies and other ZUJI girls dressed in different country costumes will also be there to celebrate this moment.'
