Lau Tai-chi uses 'Squall' as the name of his character. Squall as a noun means a sudden, strong wind that can cause a brief, violent storm.

In another use, if a person squalls they make a loud and unpleasant noise. Maybe Tai-chi does not like the excuses 'Squall' came up with whenever he was asked to take on a challenge. To him, Squall's replies were like some sharp and unpleasant noise. Therefore, Tai-chi used such a name for 'Squall'.
