Man of the moment Riccardo Tisci's dark, sensual designs for Givenchy come straight from the heart, writes Jing Zhang.
It's fitting that the first offering from our new cartoonist Tony Lopes today is on the subject of weddings. The award-winning Australian humourist worked for some years as a wedding photographer before turning his hand to drawing his comic strip, Insanity Streak, in 1995.
Lopes applies his keen wit to the small moments of everyday life, finding humour in the quirks of human nature. There are no central characters or subject matter, imposing few limitations on his comical style. 'I enjoy the freedom of taking the readers anywhere,' he says.
He has twice won Best Comic Strip and once Best Single gag artist with Insanity Streak at the Australian Cartoonists Association Stanley Awards.
Lopes, who lives in Sydney with his wife Lori, first developed the idea for the strip as a teenager. It is now published in more than 50 newspapers worldwide.
