SALUTE TO CUHK

As the first tertiary institute in Hong Kong to offer arts education, the Department of Fine Arts of the Chinese University of Kong (CUHK) is the cradle for many aspiring local artists.

Co-presented by CUHK and the Hong Kong Arts Centre, the exhibition 'Cheng Ming in All Directions: 40 Years Arts at CUHK' celebrates the 40th anniversary of CUHK and pays tribute to the achievements of its Department of Fine Arts. New exhibits ranging from paintings to multi-media pieces by more than 20 renowned graduates, including Kwok Ying, Ho Siu-kee, Leung Chi-wo and Man Ching-ying, will be on display. The works demonstrate the graduates' versatility.

The exhibition starts today at The Pao Gallery of the Hong Kong Arts Centre and continues until December 30.

Free admission from 10am to 8pm.

HILARIOUS MUSICAL

Not a Very Silent Night, a musical revue in English presented by Perilous Mouths Theatre, promises an enjoyable evening for the audience. The musical takes a hilarious look at things related to the festive season, combining the words of famous writers with traditional songs. It offers an alternative view of the pressures and pleasures of living through Christmas. The performance will be staged at Fringe Club today and tomorrow at 7.30pm. Tickets cost $120, $100 (for members) and $60 (for full-students) and are available at HK Ticketing on 31 288 288.

SEMINAR

Members of the public are welcome to attend the seminar 'Increasing Opportunities for Learning in Small Classes', which will take place at the Hong Kong Institute of Education (Room 08, Lower Podium, Block D1) tomorrow.

Professor Maurice Galton, of Cambridge University, will share his views on the issue of small group learning. Conducted in English, the seminar starts at 3pm. Reservations are required. Inquiries on 2948 6398.
