Roll up, roll up! The kids will love this extravaganza. If you grew up in the west, you should be familiar with the variety of performers in this circus: clowns, acrobats, a big-cat tamer, a magician, a strongman. What is new to me - a frequent circus-goer two to three decades ago in Britain - are the canine footballers. Teams of four dogs jump for balloons and try to nuzzle them past doggie goalkeepers. The kids - and several adults - in the packed auditorium went wild over this feat. Another act featured a white Siberian tiger.
The most striking feats are saved till the end: well-choreographed aerial acrobatics.
Catch the circus in Wan Chai's Southorn Playground until Dec 28. After that it plays in seven other locations until mid-June. Check www.moscowcircus.com.hk for performance details and ticket reservation or call 8201 3366. Tickets are also available from Urbtix and HK Ticketing outlets.
