Worldly tastes

If you need a last-minute holiday gift - and even better, one that benefits three charities - flip through the pages of A Taste Of My World by Katharine Pooley.

The British-born author and ex-banker moved to Singapore after living in Hong Kong for 14 years; she has also lived in Vietnam and Bahrain.

The beautifully designed and photographed book has recipes that Pooley (who attended Cordon Bleu and Prue Leith cookery schools) collected from family, friends and on her extensive travels around the world.

All proceeds from the book will be divided equally between three charities: Future Hope (providing homes and education to street children in Calcutta, India), Tiger Tops (an international trust for the conservation and protection of tigers) and The Himalayan Trust (provi- ding education, health services and training to Nepalese sherpas).

A Taste Of My World costs $350 and is available at Tabla fashion in the Prince's Building (tel: 2525 5590) and at book- shops including Page One, Dymocks, Swindon and the Mandarin Oriental hotel.
