iba special dividend hinges on fubon general offer

International Bank of Asia (IBA) has proposed a special interim dividend of 26 HK cents per share in the six months to December. However, a key condition for the dividend payout was Taiwan financial group Fubon Financial Holdings' intention on making a general offer for the bank's shares, the company said yesterday. Fubon is due to make a decision on the general offer by January 8.

kingboard commissions jiangmen pcb factory

Laminate maker Kingboard Chemical Holdings has commissioned the first phase of a printed circuit board (PCB) factory in Jiangmen built at a cost of US$30 milliion. The factory will have a monthly capacity of two million sq ft single-sided PCBs and 500,000 sq ft multi-layer PCB. The company is building the second phase of the PCBs factory, scheduled for completion in 12 months, at a cost UD$36 million.

bond issue opposed

Minority shareholders of piped gas supplier China Gas Holdings have voted down a motion to issue more convertible bonds, putting paid to the company's cash call. The company said its plan was thwarted in a special general meeting on Friday.

Vedan shares pledged

Substantial shareholders of monosodium glutamate and food additives maker Vedan International (Holdings) have pledged a combined 11.64 per cent of the company for commercial loans.
