Hong Kong-based Celestial Pictures' 24-hour movie channel will be broadcast on exTV - the city's latest pay-TV service - when it launches on February 18.

The channel, which shows films from the Shaw Brothers library and Golden Harvest, already airs in Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore and Indonesia, and there are plans to launch it in the rest of Asia, Australia, North America, and Europe.

ExTV is operated by Galaxy Satellite Broadcasting, a joint venture between TVB and American satellite provider Intelsat.

Other channels that exTV plans to broadcast include five from TVB, Mei Ah Entertainment's MATV, HBO, Cinemax, and the Hallmark channel.
