Practice makes perfect

Firefighters and police team up during an exercise yesterday to put out a 'blaze' on a fishing boat in waters near the Tai Po wholesale fish market. The exercise was not only aimed at testing the readiness of fire and rescue services, but also to promote crime and fire prevention. Officers later distributed leaflets to residents at nearby Shuen Wan Typhoon Shelter. However, some residents had other safety in mind. One elderly woman told officers to slow down police boats in the shelter. 'I've been thrown off my boat a few times because of the waves the boats generate,' the woman said.
