Improve peak-hour frequency

I WISH to comment on KMB's route No 276 bus, which goes between Sheung Shui and Tin Shui Estate via Yuen Long Town and the New Territories Circular Road.

The route provides a direct, fast, reliable link between Yuen Long Town and Sheung Shui. Its speed and reliability cannot be replaced by similar routes, such as the Nos 76K and 77K. Therefore, it has become a popular route for the commuters between Yuen Long, Sheung Shui and also urban areas.

However, during peak hours and public holidays, its service is inadequate.

Frequently, the commuters at Yuen Long Town cannot get on the bus as it is already full by the time it arrives there.

We had heard that things would improve this month, however, so far, we have not seen any improvement.

In order to cope with the increasing demand, because of the growing number of passengers, I suggest that the frequency of the No 276 be increased to intervals of seven to eight minutes. Special trips should be operated from Yuen Long Town and from the bus stop at San Wan Road near Sheung Shui KCR Station during peak hours, and the hours of service should be extended to 11 or 11.15 pm.

I hope KMB will consider my suggestion.
