The normally larger-than-life Australian comedian Barry Humphries managed to elude the media with his strangest costume during a lightning visit this week.

Humphries, famous for his eccentric alter-egos Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson, walked the streets of Hong Kong dressed as himself. Those who are unfamiliar with these names would certainly recognise the face of Dame Edna - who was a regular guest on Ally McBeal - remember the woman with pink hair and horn-rimmed glasses?

Humphries, who sources confirmed stayed at the Mandarin, spent his one night in town doing what a lady's got to do: shopping. Even a close personal friend had no idea he was here.
