Street-cred sportswear is all the rage this season, which is why Comme des Garcons designer Rei Kawakubo is collaborating with British sportswear label Fred Perry - named after the 1930s tennis star - to produce a new line of shirts. The shirts ($1,100) feature retro-inspired contrast collars in a foolproof palette of white, navy, maroon and black.
'Comme des Garcons recognised the Fred Perry shirt as a style classic. They focused on developing core vintage styles through the subtle use of colour,' says Fred Perry's managing director John Flynn. 'Both brands are perceived as iconic and combining the two seemed to make perfect sense.' To complete the look, invest in a pair of table tennis-inspired sneakers ($890), also bearing the Fred Perry-Comme des Garcons label. The shirts and sneakers are available at Joyce, Pacific Place, Admiralty, and Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.
