SCMP Reporter

The Green Carnival 2004  will be held to raise public awareness of environmental protection on Sunday at the Wan Chai Sports Ground.

The annual carnival is organised by the Green Council  , the Education and Manpower Bureau  and the University of Hong Kong  .

Activities will include 30 booth game counters, an air-filled sculpture playground and performances of pop songs, dance and drama. Funds raised will benefit the Green Council.

Another highlight will be the Creative Environmental Friendly Robotics Tournament 2004 competition, which aims to encourage young people to use their creativity to construct environmental models using recycled materials.

Featured this year is a mouse trap which participants have to use  to activate robotic cars. Free tickets will be available at the venue. For enquiries: www.greencouncil.org, or call 2810 1122.
