It's hard to be convinced by a 'jetsetter' who takes a business trip to Hong Kong, where she wears a kimono in the hotel, eats fortune cookies and rides 'all over Hong Kong, up and down the hills' on a bicycle with a four-year-old girl on the handlebars. The rest of this novel from the author of Legally Blonde is just as unbelievable. The heroine, Becca Reinhart, 31, is a workaholic. But her life is turned upside down when her best friend dies and makes her the guardian of her daughter, Emily. The oh-so-quirky catch is that Becca has to share custody of Emily with wealthy, handsome bachelor Edward Kirkland. If you can ignore the implausible, there are funny moments, such as when Becca teaches Emily the days of the week using a birth-control pill dispenser.
