The success of Art Jam, where people paint and drink wine, has prompted the arrival of a competitor. Hobbies Central opened officially at the beginning of the month. Offering the arts and crafts enthusiast more options than slapping paint on a daunting canvas, it is focusing on hobbies such as teddy bear making and quilting. But who is it targeting, because no drinks were advertised in the ad? Families, traditionalists and people with a flair for developing long-lost traditions, of course.

'Hong Kong is such a cosmopolitan city with great technologies, but traditionalism and heritage ... must be preserved,' says owner Sofia Gunawan. For more details check out www.hobbiescentralhk.com or call 2234 0319.
