French lend helping hand

Tinnie Chow

The French in Hong Kong will band together tomorrow night to help the children of Cambodia, its former colony, and they want everyone to join in.

Children of the Mekong (HK) chairwoman Cyrianne Witvoet, the wife of Hugues Witvoet, president of LVMH Investments Asia, is one of three French residents in Hong Kong who dedicate their time to helping children in Cambodia.

'Because of its history and its close relations with France, Cambodia has always been sentimental to the French,' she says.

The event, all proceeds of which will go to Ranarith High School in Cambodia, is being held at Club ING and will feature a live Latino band and DJs THC from Insertion and Steve Bruce (HK Eclectic).

Advance tickets are $300 from Parenthese Bookstore or $400 at the door, and include two free drinks and entry to the lucky draw prize for two tickets to London.
