The Hang Seng Index fell 190 points, or 1.43 per cent, yesterday on the back of falls on Wall Street after an unexpected US record trade deficit of US$43.1 billion in January.
As the deficit news saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the Nasdaq Composite Index erase this year's gains on Wednesday, Asian markets were also affected by investors' concerns that valuations were getting ahead of growth.
