To some, a tap is a tap is a tap. To others, such as Italian architect and designer Antonio Citterio, these humble bathroom fixtures are an essential source of water and their designs need to reflect that. Working with the Axor luxury bathroom brand by Hansgrohe, Citterio has come up with a 70-strong line of basin, bidet, shower and bath mixers - geometrically precise, elegantly crafted and functional. They come in popular chrome (from $4,380) and, for the first time, in electroplated platinum finish (from $6,580), the same material used in high quality jewellery. And to go with these mixers are several marvellous baths (from $70,000) - some with integrated shelves and sinks - and matching accessories such as towel rings ($1,180) and toothbrush holders ($1,580). The Axor Citterio range, recently launched in Hong Kong, is available at Ovo Living (1 Electric Street, Wan Chai) and Depot (371 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai). For details, call 3106 6008.
