The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre brimmed with excitement on Sunday when David Bowie took to the stage and defied his age with a charismatic performance.

The 57-year-old glam rocker - recently voted one of the 10 greatest pop icons of all time - kicked off with Rebel Rebel. His on-stage wizardry then had the crowd dancing and singing along with him and his band to other classics including China Girl, Fame, Heroes, Ashes to Ashes, Suffragette City and Ziggy Stardust.

Bowie, who wore jeans and a T-shirt throughout the two-and-a-half-hour concert, was so laid back that age did seem to have mellowed him a little. However, his performance was anything but creaky.

From all the screaming and chanting at the end of the concert it's clear that Bowie has not lost touch with the magic that renders him an everlasting rock icon.
