Fifty Fifty looks standout selection in bumper TT
Rookie trainer Caspar Fownes holds the key to winning an estimated $50 million in the Triple Trio with progressive galloper Fifty Fifty, who is a clear choice for banker in the final leg. The talented sort has never missed the frame in four career starts, which include two victories, one of them over 1,400 metres.
He lost nothing in defeat to Upbeat over that distance this month. The leader stole a break at the top of the straight, but Fifty Fifty stuck on gamely all the way to the wire. He strikes slightly weaker opposition here and should have every chance of saluting for visiting rider Patrick Payne.
Ivan Allan has his yard firing just now but Scintillation has been in cracking form all season, having hit the frame on all five starts. He was beaten by subsequent winner San Lorenzo on February 1, which looks rock solid form, and he should figure in the finish again.
Healthy Fruits has taken a little time to hit form, but finished third over the course and distance to Agility on February 22 in what was a sound performance. The booking of Olivier Peslier is a positive and he must be kept safe.
Super Charge displayed improvement with the blinkers applied at his last outing when second to Circuit Kingdom over 1,400 metres, and looks a solid chance again. Bowin is another holding his form rather well and is capable of filling a minor placing.
With three victories and two seconds from his last five starts, it is hard to find a better option for banker than My Choice in the opening leg. He has missed the frame only once in seven attempts over 1,400 metres and looks a leading contender here.
Kiddyland has fallen a long way in the ratings and now looks competitively weighted. The booking of Douglas Whyte and barrier one should ensure he has every chance.
Five Grains can be excused his poor run on February 15 when the blinkers were applied for the first time. That piece of gear has been removed this time and a repeat of his form prior to that last outing would see him figuring in the finish.
Whatabob ran well on debut and can be expected to have improved further, suggesting he too should be added to the shortlist. Green Century has a decent record over the course and distance and is hard to leave out of selections.
The logical banker in the middle leg is California Hawk, who looks a promising sprinter. He has been freshened since finishing third to multiple winner Gem Of India on December 14 and is working a treat.
The form from that race looks very strong and he should be hard to beat.
Wyndam Easy has been in sensational form lately with three wins from his last four starts. The fact he has failed to hit the frame just once in four attempts over 1,200 metres suggests he must be included.
The Achiever will relish the step back in trip and must be kept safe, while Forte looks competitively weighted and merits respect.
The logical choice for banker in the third event is Bountiful, who will appreciate the step up to 1,800 metres. He indicated he was ready to win when third over the Sha Tin mile on March 7.
Great Sensation caught the eye when finishing sixth to Divine Feeling earlier this month and looks a chance to hit the frame. Noble Zoom has won his last two starts and remains on the upgrade, while Cherished won with relative ease at Happy Valley recently and has place claims again.
