Keith an all-round talent

Name: Keith Robertson

Grade: Year 12

School: West Island

Sport: Football, rugby, athletics

Statistics: Keith was chosen player of the tournament and scored the winning goal in the All-Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying football final last month. In December, the 16-year-old played a key role as West Island won the inter-school rugby title, and he was voted best and fairest player at the New Year's day schoolboy rugby tournament.

In the Division One school athletics finals earlier this month, he achieved personal bests of 4 minutes 33 seconds in the 1,500 metres, and 6.50m in the long jump. He was a member of the West Island team that won the junior category of the Outward Bound Adventure Race in Sai Kung recently.

Soundbite: 'I'm a low-key person but when I'm on the sports field I express myself more. Even if I don't feel like training, I'll still go. I like competing and it's even better if you win.'

Interests: Sport, sport, and more sport, only sometimes it's on different surfaces - Keith is a big snowboarding fan.

Academic performance: Achieved two A-stars, six As, and two Bs at GCSE last summer.

From his coach: 'Keith is one the best all-round sports talents I've seen in 12 years of teaching,' said Mark Williams. 'He's got fantastic ability.'

Ambition: Keith is considering studying sports science at a university in the United Kingdom, possibly Loughborough or Nottingham.
