Superstar David Beckham, er, Duckham invites you for beer

OK, he might not be David Beckham, but sports fans nevertheless will be interested to hear that English rugby star David Duckham, MBE, is in Hong Kong for a visit timed to coincide with the Sevens.

CitySeen hears that the former British Lion will be making a few (public and private) appearances while he is in town.

David's career began in 1969 and ended in 1979, lighting up what was a mostly dismal period for English rugby.

He won honours at every level, he captained Coventry, and he was one of England's finest wing threequarters.

The highlight of his career came in 1973 in his encounter against the All Blacks in what has been called the 'Game of the Century'.

David will be speaking casually tonight at Delaney's in Wan Chai, and again at a very private 'Annual Long Lunch' at The Park Lane on Friday.

The Delaney's evening costs $150 (including a snack buffet and one Heineken). You can call 2804-2880 for tickets. The proceeds will go towards The Wooden Spoon Society & the HKRFU Charitable Trust Fund.
