YOUTH THEATRE

Blossoms in the Wind, a Cantonese drama about the mystery of love, will be staged at Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre tomorrow and on Saturday.

Performed by Theatre Fanatico as part of the Young Professional Series, the play is set in 1976. It follows an ill-fated romance whose fortunes change with the seasons, flourishing in summer but losing its sparkle as the weather grows colder. The drama features young actors including Yeung Sze-mun and Kearen Pang.

The performances start at 8pm, with a matinee at 3pm on Saturday. Tickets, at $120 and $90 for adults, with half-price for students, can be purchased through Urbtix on 2734 9009.

CHINESE DANCE

A dance performance will demonstrate how young people from ethnic minorities in Sichuan province on the mainland express their love. Some are amusing, others poetic.

Presented by the Hong Kong Dance Company, Bashu Spice will be staged at the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre from tomorrow until Sunday. The show is choreographed by Liu Lingli and Mei Yuanggang, both from Sichuan. It also features the province's teahouse culture and its operatic traditions.

Bashu Spice has won major prizes in mainland dance competitions, and has been invited to tour Europe and South Korea.

The shows will start at 7.30pm, with a matinee at 3pm on Sunday. Tickets cost $180, $150, $120 and $90 for adults, with half-price for students, and are available through Urbtix.
