World leaders will again descend on Hainan when the island province hosts the Boao Forum for Asia from April 24-25.

Long Yongtu, Boao's secretary-general and a former vice-minister of foreign trade, said this year's theme - 'Asia Searching for Win-Win' - was likely to remain the forum's perpetual theme.

Mr Long said a yet-to-be named senior central government leader would present the keynote address at the forum, which is billed as China's effort to reach out to the business community.

Other scheduled speakers include former US president George Bush and Ernesto Zedillo, former president of Mexico and co-signer of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Czech President Vaclav Klaus will be on hand to tell the 1,000 expected delegates about the European Union's economic integration and the implications for Asia.

'We at the Boao Forum are bringing together not only top Asian ministers and chief executives, but also global leaders,' Mr Long said.

There will be two concurrent summits this year. One is for Asian regional ministers, who will discuss the next round of talks for the World Trade Organisation's Doha agenda, aimed at narrowing the gap between developed and developing nations.

The other is for Asian industrialists, who will participate in a summit on China's peaceful rise and economic globalisation. Top Chinese ministers will explain the nation's reforms.
