On style, she rules
I've heard some anti-perspirants and deodorants can cause breast cancer. Are there any without aluminium?
Metal Detector, Prince Edward
The Dictator rules: Do you see the title 'Dr' anywhere near my name? I cannot advise you on such matters (well, what I've read seems inconclusive). I can tell you there are lots of natural deodorants without aluminium, but you should read the labels to avoid any other chemicals that might be scaring you this week. Dr. Hauschka's Deo Floral roll-on ($120; Joyce Boutique, Central; tel: 2810 1120) is popular. Jurlique (shop 17D, G/F, Hyatt Regency Hotel, 37 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui; tel: 2722 5111) has two aluminium-free products: Deo-Spray, made of natural oils and extracts ($200 for 100ml), and Herbal Deodorant for men, made from extracts meant to be body-odour-inhibiting ($107 for 100ml). Origins makes a gorgeously fresh-scented deodorant with a name that demands a Tony Soprano accent: No Offense ($100; shop 1076, Podium Level One, IFC Mall, Central; tel: 3188 1826). I'm sceptical about deodorant stones, but if you'd like to try them check out L'Occitane's Purifying Crystal Deodorant ($150; Style House, Park Lane Hotel, Causeway Bay; tel: 2576 1410).
Where can I find eyebrow waxing for guys?
Browbeaten, Kennedy Town
The Dictator: Where can you not? Eyebrow shaping (the plucking of individual hairs with tweezers) and waxing (using warm wax that rips hair off in clumps) take 15 minutes and cost about the same. At Paul Gerrard's (1/F, Wah Hing House, 35 Pottinger Street, Central; tel: 2869 4408), you'll have it done for $120 on the serene body-focused floor away from the hairdryers upstairs. Or book in at The Firm (15/F, The Centrium, 60 Wyndham Street, Central; tel: 2525 6696), where eyebrow waxing costs $100. Why not try threading (longer lasting, but it brings tears to the eyes) at The Mandarin Oriental's Barber Shop, (Connaught Road, Central; tel: 2522 0111), where threading and shaping cost $150 each. Well done on deciding to do something about that unibrow - but have an idea of the results you want or you might end up looking like a drag queen on his day off.
I bought two James Coviello twin sets in Hong Kong a couple of years ago but can no longer find his stuff.
Can you help?
On The Trail, Causeway Bay
The Dictator: I am sent a lot of lazy questions but ones this silly are rare. I admit Teresa has been a bit of tip during its extended 'stock clearance' mega sale, but it is still around (shop 101, The Galleria, 9 Queen's Road Central; tel: 2868 2339). And it still carries a range of James Coviello clothes, including marked-down summery viscose knit tops ($297 to $390), wool sweaters ($795) with matching knit bags ($285)
and cotton trousers ($680 to $899). The former milliner, who supplied American designer Anna Sui with the hats for her first runway show (see www.jamescoviello.com), also designs a lower-end product line for Spiegel ($180 to $500; available at www.spiegel.com). You might also consider similar looks from Tulip (shop 209, The Galleria; tel: 2522 3372), such as Cathryn Avison's pastel cashmere cardigans that come complete with winsome lace and ribbon trims ($8,700).
