It's the perfect gadget for wannabe secret agents: a tiny digital camera that looks like a Zippo cigarette lighter. Makers of the JB1 (James Bond, get it?) call it 'the world's first official 007 digital camera'. There's no fiddling with an on-off switch, you simply flick open the lid and click the shutter button; you then have the potential to take more than 300 photographs surreptitiously at 320 x 240 resolution (or 150 pictures at 640 x 480). In a potentially perverted innovation, the PC- and Mac-compatible gadget can be switched to surveillance mode, in which it takes pictures at 90-minute intervals for up to 19 days. Users can make a 30-minute movie (it has 8MB of storage), and a voice-recording function allows you to record 12 minutes of sound. Q, the brains behind Bond's remote-controlled BMW and jet-propelled backpack, would be as proud as punch. Prices vary online, from $690 to $780 on sites such as www.thinkgeek.com and www.iwantoneofthose.com.
